Rebecca Reddin, Psychologist and Perinatal Specialist

Is how I am feeling normal? Should it be this hard? Am I not meant to be a parent? The journey to parenthood is messier and clunkier than most of us ever imagined, often taking turns we never could have foreseen.  It is also a time where we need compassionate and understanding support.

Rebecca Reddin, a Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, has been working with women and families in this tender transition since 2009. As a Perinatal Psychologist and a Certified Perinatal Specialist (PMH-C) she has in depth training on the transition to parenthood; from fertility to parenting; from hormones to identity changes; from losses to traumas. Having completed a MA and MSc in Psychology focusing on Marriage and Family Therapy, Rebecca has a wealth of knowledge and experience to support your journey; whether is is the normal messiness of your journey to parenthood or you are experiencing significant mental health challenges, I am here to help.

Rebecca has always supported the tender transition to parenthood; starting with supporting young women navigating addiction, mental health and pregnancy since 2010. Rebecca has always supported the tender transition to parenthood; starting with supporting young women navigating addiction, mental health and pregnancy since 2010. She joined a group practice in the United States in 2014 that specialised in working with mothers, parents and couples navigating the journey to parenthood; supporting fertility challenges, postnatal depression, anxiety and parenting.

When she moved to Kinsale, Co. Cork in 2021 Mindful Roots Counselling and Psychotherapy was born to provide that same compassionate care to mothers and families here in Ireland. In 2024 Rebecca saw the need for specialised training for Perinatal professionals and launched the Perinatal Mental Health Institute

Why online? Through the pandemic all counselling went online. After we all found our feet a bit; the conclusion was clear. Online counselling provided the flexibility, connection, sustainable support that was needed not only during lockdown, but in the messiness of the transition to parenthood.
